Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and raised by the multiracial, mixed-ethnic family. Jacqueline's parents are Malaysian and from Sri Lanka. She was born in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. When she was a teenager she competed in badminton at National level competitions. She later resigned her career in the sport in order to be a fashion model. Padukone is a native of Mangalorean roots and is fluent in Konkani as her primary language. Her family ancestors are from the town of Padukone located in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district in Karnataka state in India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the 1980s. The mother of her daughter, who worked for a travel agency also comes from this village.
